Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/8703The present study aimed to conduct a multitemporal analysis of land use and land cover in the municipality of Marabá, Pará, by integrating data from the MapBiomas projects for the years 1986, 1996, 2006, 2016, and 2023, in order to understand territorial transformation processes and their socio-environmental impacts. The research is characterized as descriptive and exploratory, based on documental and geospatial analysis, using secondary data from the MapBiomas collections. Data processing was carried out using Geographic Information Systems tools (QGIS 3.28 and ArcGIS 10.8), enabling the municipal clipping, land use class standardization, and the elaboration of comparative tables, graphs, and thematic maps. The results showed that, in 1986, forest cover represented about 85% of the municipality’s area but suffered a continuous reduction, reaching 27% in 2023. Meanwhile, pasture areas grew from 9% to 67%, while agriculture and urbanization also expanded.
