The research sought to verify the availability of these resources and their relationship with more playful and interesting teaching. In addition, it investigated the difficulties faced by teachers in their application in the classroom and the receptiveness of students regarding the importance of these materials for engagement in class. The results indicated that teaching materials are essential to make Geography teaching more dynamic, but their implementation requires appropriate pedagogical strategies. Methodologically, the research adopted a qualitative approach, starting with a bibliographic survey for theoretical basis. Then, a field research was carried out at the “Dr. José Malcher” State Elementary School (EEEF), through semi-structured interviews with open questions directed to teachers and students. The data obtained showed that the diversification of teaching resources in the classroom contributes significantly to student engagement and facilitates the understanding of the content.
