It is represented by biotite granodiorite of Archean age. The geological mapping allowed better define the spatial distribution of this unit, which outcrops as rounded blocks and flooring, sometimes cut by mafic dykes in the NS direction. As a result, the geological map of the area of occurrence of the granodiorite Grotão was redefined. Macroscopically these rocks are isotropic, have medium granulation, and light gray color. The modal data when plotted in the QAP diagram, plots exclusively on the field of granodioritic rocks. The essential mineralogy of these rocks is dominantly composed of plagioclase, quartz and feldspar, with biotite as the main ferromagnesian mineral. The average content of mafic minerals is 4.5%, these rocks are classified as leucocratic.
