These agreements create new meanings for the fishing space, making it a territory capable of shaping behaviors and supporting its own rules. This study is justified by the need to study the islands in the Cametá archipelago - Pará, more specifically the relationships between individuals, their knowledge, practices and social practices in fishing agreements. We seek to know what happens to riverside territoriality after the creation of the jaracuera grande fishing agreement? The objective of the study is to analyze the socioeconomic benefits of the fishing agreement for the jaracuera grande community. The study used a qualitative approach, which allowed the use of several methods to achieve the objective, such as fieldwork, questionnaires, semi-structured interviews and document readings. The results indicate that fishing agreements are extremely important both for those who live in the community and for people from outside. This is because they preserve the breeding and sheltering sites of fish, as well as the reproductive periods, which ensures the maintenance of fish stocks. In addition, it strengthened the bonds between members and contributed to the increase in local income. Therefore, the agreement is important in the economic and social sense, as a specific fishing territory and the fight for rights.
