Acesso:https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/9709The training of architects and urban planners requires overcoming the dichotomy between theory and practice in order to align technical skills with contemporary ethical, social, and environmental demands. In this context, the experimental construction site emerges as an essential pedagogical tool, as it provides direct experiences with materials, building techniques, and social processes, while integrating teaching, research, and outreach. Since its first initiatives in the 1970s, such practices have consolidated methodological discussions that culminated in official and experimental recommendations, reinforcing the relevance of the experimental site as a space for innovation. This approach enables students to develop autonomy, critical thinking, and cooperation skills, while also addressing challenges related to resource scarcity and socio-environmental impacts. The present work aims to analyze the role of the experimental site in architectural and urbanistic education, with a focus on its integration into the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism at the Federal University of Pará, through the development of architectural design and pedagogical activities. The study contextualizes the historical background of experimental sites, highlighting pioneering initiatives such as those at PUCCampinas and FAUUSP, which have significantly contributed to didactics and the consolidation of curricular guidelines in architectural education. By reviewing applied methodologies and analyzing case studies, the research demonstrates how this pedagogical instrument bridges the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical execution, enabling students to acquire technical competence, creative autonomy, and critical awareness regarding social, humanitarian, and environmental demands. Furthermore, the study emphasizes the relevance of the experimental site in fostering stronger connections between university and community, promoting knowledge exchange, experimentation with accessible materials, and sustainable solutions. Thus, it concludes that experimental sites in universities should not be understood merely as spaces for constructive practice, but as fundamental instruments for shaping architects and urban planners capable of acting in innovative, conscious, and socially engaged ways in contemporary reality.Acesso AbertoCanteiro ExperimentalMetodologia Ativa de EnsinoMaterializaçãoExperimental Construction SiteActive MethodologyMaterializationCNPQ::CIENCIAS SOCIAIS APLICADAS::ARQUITETURA E URBANISMOO canteiro experimental como estratégia didática para uma aprendizagem ativa no curso de Arquitetura e Urbanismo da UFPATrabalho de Curso - Graduação - MonografiaAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Brazil
