Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/9379In this work, we aim to research the topic of the açaí fruit (Euterpe Oleracea Martius), with the riverine community of Mapiraí de Cima, Cametá-PA, as the study object, a fruit that serves as the main source of food and income for the community. Being of riverine origin was one of the main reasons for this research, as well as the fact that the island has few studies that explore its natural resources, in addition to serving as a reference for other works. The methodology initially consisted of searching for bibliographic resources, authors who address the topic, as well as field research and data collection to verify the intensity of açaí production. In the research, we aimed to monitor, describe, and photograph the entire process from production and harvest to the fruit's pulp extraction, investigating the benefits it brings during the harvest season, both economically and in terms of food, as well as the challenges faced during the off-season. This was done through field research and interviews with ten families. In the study, we analyzed how the communities are currently organized with a product that is highly valued in the external market, having its spatial production circuit expanded. To support the research and discuss the spatial circuit of production, we used authors such as CLAVAL (2005), MARX (1859), SANTOS (1986), among others. We also aimed to describe and represent through images the spatial production circuit of açaí. Furthermore, we connected territory and production, focusing on açaí between the economic and cultural dimensions, as the fruit is not only an economic and food resource but also an identity marker for the riverine community. To reference these concepts, we sought to include authors like CAROLI (2005), FLORES (2006), RAFFESTIN (1993), and others.
