Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/9117Urban mobility is one of the main challenges faced by contemporary cities, especially when under the pressure of international mega-events such as the Conference of the Parties (COP). This study aims to describe the solutions and strategies adopted by COP host cities, from the 20th to the 30th edition, focused on urban mobility, as well as to identify the challenges faced, characterize the existing transport modes, and assess the legacies left in terms of infrastructure and sustainable urban planning. The research, of bibliographic, exploratory, and descriptive nature, was based on the analysis of scientific articles retrieved from Google Scholar, ScienceDirect (Elsevier), and Scopus (Elsevier), in addition to institutional reports and official documents from the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). The results highlight sharp contrasts between developed cities, such as Paris, Bonn, Madrid, and Glasgow, which reinforced existing policies and consolidated legacies in active mobility, intermodal integration, and digitalization, and developing cities, such as Lima, Marrakesh, and Belém, which remained constrained by structural deficiencies, informal transport, and low metropolitan integration. In intermediate contexts, such as Dubai and Baku, the paradox between modern infrastructure and persistent car dependency was observed, while Sharm El-Sheikh advanced in sustainable initiatives still restricted to the tourism sector. It is concluded that COP can act as a catalyst for urban transformations, but its effectiveness depends on institutional capacity to turn emergency measures into permanent policies.
