Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/9275This study presents an experience report developed in a female juvenile detention center in the state of Pará, Brazil, focusing on the reflective analysis of teaching practice in Chemistry education. The proposal consisted of designing and implementing a didactic sequence on acids and bases using açaí extract as a natural pH indicator and everyday substances from regional food culture as pedagogical resources. The research adopted a qualitative approach and was conducted as a reflective teacher narrative within the framework of the Institutional Program for Teaching Initiation Scholarships (PIBID). The results indicate that adapted experimentation and cultural contextualization promoted student engagement, active participation, and the gradual construction of scientific meanings, despite the structural limitations of the institutional setting. Furthermore, the experience contributed to the development of the researcher’s teaching identity, highlighting the importance of empathy, active listening, and methodological flexibility in educational practices in contexts of social vulnerability.
