An example of digital media is social networks, such as Instagram, which can be used as teaching tools, as they have several advantages. Thus, this research is looking for a practical application of the social network Instagram as an online platform for students in Biological Sciences. Thus, the work is a basic research of exploratory nature with analytical and qualitative analysis carried out through data collection with application of study and exploration of the theme by bibliographic research. Most of the discs that responded to the monitoring Instagram compliance and responded as polls posted on the account. The average interaction was 2.7 on a scale of 0 to 5. Few students send questions by direct message. As for the students who will follow the accounts, everyone would like to participate in online monitoring in other disciplines, 97.7% that Instagram is a good platform to carry out online monitoring and everyone believes that online monitoring through the Instagram can be used as a package feature on the packaging. Thus, the research showed that the students see online monitoring as a good resource to be used in the form of a good resource, but the students themselves judged to have participated little in the activities.
