In this sense, selective collection workshops were held for students in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th grades of elementary school, which were taught by volunteer students from the School of Sanitary and Environmental Engineering of the Federal University of Pará, Tucuruí University Campus. The research was developed in four operational stages: development of the project's visual identity, planning, execution and, finally, monitoring and evaluation of the actions carried out. The results reported the active participation of the students in the activities carried out. In addition, their interest in the topic addressed was verified, which contributed significantly to raising ecological awareness about solid waste, as well as to promoting sustainable practices. Thus, the implementation of educational practices focused on ecological and sustainable literacy in municipal schools is essential for the formation of sensitive, responsible and active citizens in favor of meeting the Sustainable Development Goals, proposed by the United Nations 2030 Agenda.
