Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/4927The present study is part of discussions that deal with teaching work and the possible implications that lead to the constant illness of teachers in basic education in Abaetetuba-Pará, in view of the high incidence of teachers who, for various reasons of a physical or psychological nature, work sick. In this way, the research problematizes: What is the relationship between teaching work and the illness of teachers in the municipal education network of Abaetetuba. Based on this question, the objective is to understand the relationship between teaching work and the illness of teachers who work in municipal schools in Abaetetuba. The study is descriptive and exploratory, constituting a qualitative approach, as it is centered on the subject's action and on the broad study of meanings. For this, we used as a technique for data collection, the interview with 4 teachers from the early years of the municipal network of Abaetetuba, making it possible to analyze the perspective of teachers in relation to teaching work and their health, as well as their collaborations through of classroom practice. According to the data produced from the educational context experienced, the research shows that the norms and requirements that are a daily part of the teaching work in the municipal schools of Abaetetuba, in spite of the responsibilities with the success or failure of the students, oblige teachers to always be in search of perfection and, because of this responsibility, they become anxious, depressive and psychologically ill professionals, not to mention other factors such as the workload, the lack of dialogue with the institution and the low salary remuneration, which also compromise the health of teachers.Acesso AbertoAdoecimento docenteProfessores de AbaetetubaTrabalho docenteTeacher illnessTeachers of AbaetetubaTeaching workCNPQ::CIENCIAS HUMANAS::EDUCACAOTrabalho de Curso - Graduação - Artigo
