Acesso em:.http://bdm.ufpa.br/jspui/handle/prefix/1183This study of quantitative approach entitled The evasion in numbers in higher education: study on the Federal University of Pará, Campus of Altamira with the main objective of diagnosing the rate of evasion by college and in the campus of the entering classes in the years 2009 and 2010. Documentary analysis was performed as an instrument of data collection. The data were analyzed through descriptive statistics and in light of the authors who discuss the topic of evasion in higher education. During this period there were seven incoming classes, five undergraduate and two bachelor's degrees. The rate of dropout among the seven courses oscillated, with the lowest and the highest one being offered by the bachelor's degrees.
