Despite national and international recognition, its implementation in Brazil still faces significant structural, educational, and institutional challenges. Objective: To analyze the main challenges related to the implementation of pediatric palliative care in Brazil, focusing on professional health education and public health policies within the Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS). Methods: Qualitative study based on a literature review and critical analysis of national scientific production and normative documents concerning pediatric palliative care. Results: Findings revealed unequal distribution of services, concentrated in large urban centers and high-complexity hospitals, as well as weaknesses in the integration among healthcare levels. Significant gaps were identified in undergraduate education and continuing professional training, associated with the predominance of the curative biomedical model, which hinders early integration of palliative care. Limitations in public policies were also observed, including insufficient structured funding, shortage of trained multidisciplinary teams, and challenges in implementing existing guidelines. Conclusion: The consolidation of pediatric palliative care in Brazil requires investments in professional training, strengthening of public policies, and reorganization of healthcare networks to expand access, ensure continuity of care, and promote comprehensive and humanized assistance for children and their families.Acesso AbertoCuidados paliativos pediátricosPolíticas públicas de saúdeFormação profissionalSUSAssistência integralPediatric palliative carePublic health policiesProfessional educationBrazilian unified health systemComprehensive careCNPQ::CIENCIAS DA SAUDE::MEDICINA::CLINICA MEDICA::PEDIATRIADesafios para a implementação dos cuidados paliativos pediátricos no Brasil: formação profissional e políticas de saúdeTrabalho de Curso - Graduação - Monografia
