The central problem of the research lies in understanding the reasons that lead young people to participate as esmoleiros in the processions, as well as the learning experiences and meanings attributed to this practice. The general objective is to analyze the discourses of esmoleiros regarding their participation in the Comitivas do Santo Preto (processions devoted to Santo Preto, a local tradition), highlighting the learning of drum rhythms, chants, musicality, litanies, and spirituality in relation to religiosity, tradition, and the identity of the Bragantino people. The methodology is based on a qualitative approach, privileging the voices of three young esmoleiros who take part in the Comitivas do São Benedito of the beach and the colony. Data collection was carried out through semi-structured interviews, and content analysis was employed as a resource for interpreting the results, which point to the family bond with devotion to São Benedito, extending to the experience of esmoleiros in the ritual of esmolação. Within the processions, young people learn the ritual service to the Saint, characterized by learning from the elders’ knowledge for handling the instruments used in the sacred ritual, as well as the Christian morals that shape the identity of the esmoleiros. All these processes constitute a form of non-formal education, involving the transmission of values, conduct, and knowledge inherent to the comitiva.Acesso AbertoJuventudes esmoleirosTradiçãoFestividade do Glorioso São BeneditoEducaçãoBragança-PAEsmoleirosTraditionFestivity of São BeneditoEducationCNPQ::CIENCIAS HUMANASJuventudes esmoleiros na tradição da Festividade do Glorioso São Benedito, Bragança-ParáTrabalho de Curso - Graduação - MonografiaAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Brazil
