Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/jspui/handle/prefix/2395In the Brazilian Amazon live different traditional peoples that use the native vegetal species like those of medicinal use. In this sense, this work seeks to understand and analyze the traditional knowledge of the riverside women of the São João Batista Agroextractivist Settlement Project, Rio Campompema, Abaetetuba - Pará about the use of medicinal plants in the manipulation of these species for the preparation of the "shock" as a home remedy. The research area was Campompema Island, a complex of 4 islands, located southwest of the urban area of Abaetetuba. The snowball technique was used to select the interviewees, as well as semi-structured interviews for data collection, and the collections of the plant specimens were carried out during a guided tour, and these were deposited in the Herbarium of the Federal Institute of Pará HIFPA Campus Abaetetuba. The final identification was given whenever possible comparing the species collected with those deposited in the Herbarium, in addition to consulting sites such as Flora of Brazil 2020 (http://floradobrasil.jbrj.gov.br) and Tropics of the Missouri Botanical Garden ( http://www.tropicos.org/). The interviews were carried out among women aged between 33 and 73 years. Twenty-seven species were mentioned, of which four species were not identified; 17 species are distributed in 11 families; Lamiaceae with 4 species, Asteraceae with 3 species and Rutaceae with 2 species. The environments used by the collaborators are the yards, and the parts of the plants used stand out the leaves, which appear in 62% of the cases. The health problems in which the “shock” was used as treatment were: headache with 57% of cases, influenza with 14%, dizziness with 9%, other problems such as swelling, muscle aches and even esipra (erysipula) both with 5 %. It was also observed that this knowledge about the use of medicinal plants is not perpetuating in future generations.Acesso AbertoMulheresConhecimento tradicionalIlha CampompemaEspécies vegetaisWomenTraditional knowledgeCampompema islandPlant speciesCNPQ::CIENCIAS BIOLOGICAS::BOTANICAPlantas medicinais usadas na preparação do “choque” no assentamento agroextrativista São João Batista – rio Campompema, Abaetetuba, ParáTrabalho de Curso - Graduação - Monografia
