Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/9655The text deals with the history and memory of the Amazonian Evangelical Boarding School, founded in 1948 in the city of Breves, in the Marajó archipelago. The purpose is to know and give social visibility to the history of an institution that, although it is an important chapter in the history of local education, has been relegated to oblivion. The objective is to know and describe fragments of the history and school memory produced by the referred Internship and remembered by former students, specifically, to identify the profile of the students who studied at the Internship, the teaching dynamics and the purpose of the institution, equally, to verify the value assigned to the boarding school by former students, as a place of memory and heritage. The adopted methodology involved the collection of oral narratives in the light of the Oral History methodology in concomitance with bibliographic and documentary research. The theoretical basis has contributions from scholars in the field of History of Education, Anthropology and Archeology, among the theorists we highlight Pollak (1989), Hodder (1994), Foucault (2004) and Conceição (2019). The results show that the Internship is kept in the memory of the interlocutors as an educational space of excellence. It can be said that it is a historical and school reference, whose teaching involved a didactic relationship integrating pedagogical, domestic and spiritual activities. We infer that the Internship adds memory and educational heritage value to former students and the history of local education.
