Conventional treatment was emphasized, which consists of the following processes: coagulation, flocculation, decantation (flotation), filtration, in addition to those that can be added such as disinfection and fluoridation. Aiming at the need for water quality to supply Brazilian communities, considering the high financial cost for investment and having as its main premise the inclusive appeal for sustainable development, this work has the general objective of proposing a pilot system for alternative water filtration and low cost, with the production of a slow filter with downward flow. For the study of its hydraulic aspects and aiming at an efficient and accessible process, a pilot system with bottle glass was designed, as it is a commonly recyclable material, with durability and high rigidity. The construction of the pilot project took place satisfactorily, meeting the demands of the filtration process to which it was exposed.
