Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/8707This article analyzes the implementation of the New High School (Novo Ensino Médio – NEM) in seven municipalities of the Tocantina Amazon region, in the state of Pará: Abaetetuba, Acará, Barcarena, Bujarú, Concórdia do Pará, Igarapé-Miri, and Moju. The research, based on documental and bibliographic analysis, examined educational data from 2015 to 2023, considering indicators such as enrollment, approval, failure, and school dropout rates. The results point to advances stemming from the reforms but also reveal persistent challenges, especially in state institutions, regarding the application of national guidelines. The findings show that the implementation of educational policies still faces structural, curricular, and management obstacles, leading to improvisations and fragmentation in the process.
