Emphasizing first the history of weights and measures used by humanity that led to the creation of the IS. Then we present the structure of the SI with all its basic measures, and their respective basic units from which others derive, and also the conversion relationships that SI units have with units of other systems. It also covers changes in the definitions of basic units, which currently have by definition fundamental constants of nature. Of particular note is the new definition of the kilogram, which until 2018 was still based on a cylindrical platinum iridium prototype.
