Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/8511This study examines the perspectives of social inclusion for individuals released from the prison system, based on the State Plan for Education for Persons Deprived of Liberty and for Persons Released from the Prison System in the state of Pará. It adopts a qualitative approach and documentary analysis to understand how the document addresses this population. On a theoretical level, the study discusses the perspectives of Foucault, Wacquant, and Davis, who describe the prison system as a space of discipline, coercion, and rights violations. The results reveal that the Plan makes little distinction between individuals who are still incarcerated and those who have been released, treating them as equals in the proposed goals and objectives. This approach fails to consider the structural differences and unique challenges they face when reintegrating into society. The initiative Polo Produtivo Fábrica da Esperança is mentioned as a space for socio-productive reintegration, providing training and job placement for former inmates. However, its focus remains on work-related training, which raises concerns as it tends to limit human development to the acquisition of technical skills.
