It seeks to understand how linguistic and extralinguistic factors influence this linguistic construction in a community situated at a cultural and geographical border. The main objective of the research is to describe the contexts in which the variant without the article occurs, identify the conditioning factors involved in its use, and establish connections with patterns already described in other varieties of Brazilian Portuguese, with special attention to contact with speakers from Maranhão. The theoretical framework is based on Sociolinguistics, drawing on authors such as Tarallo (1997), Calvet (2002), and Mollica (2013), as well as on Anthroponymy studies, following Amaral and Seide (2020), among others. A qualitative approach was adopted, combining bibliographic research with fieldwork in Fernandes Belo. The findings indicate that this variation is strongly related to historical, cultural, and especially geographical factors, which enable significant interaction with speakers from nearby cities in Maranhão, where the studied variant is considered the norm.Acesso AbertoArtigo DefinidoAntropônimoVila de Fernandes BeloSociolinguísticaDefinite ArticleAnthroponymVillage of Fernandes BeloSociolinguisticsCNPQ::LINGUISTICA, LETRAS E ARTES::LETRAS::LINGUA PORTUGUESAAusência do artigo definido antes de antropônimos no português falado em Fernandes Belo, PA: um estudo sociolinguísticoTrabalho de Curso - Graduação - ArtigoAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Brazil
