Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/5974The present work refers to the study of the lexical variation in the speech of the residents of Ilha das Onças, whose colonization base was influenced by several peoples who passed through the island, which is composed by the rivers: Araraquara, Piramanha, Furo do Nazário, Furo Grande, Furo Laranjeira, Furo Conceição, Madre de Deus, São João, Landi, Fé em Deus, Ponta de Cima and Carnapijó. For this study, it was necessary to carry out two surveys, a bibliographical one based on the theories of Bagno, Capovilla, Castilho, Monteiro, Preti, Reis, Signorini, among others, in addition to a field survey, through interviews with a questionnaire and speech observation. of eight informants, divided into two age groups, being; four up to 30 years; and four over 31 years old; four males and four females, with education equal to or less than the 5th year of elementary school. The characteristics found, in general, differentiate the local variant from other variants of standard Portuguese.
