This study aimedtodevelopandenhanceHarpia, an open-source intelligent chatbot integrated with Large Language Models (LLMs), to au tomate support for the admission processes at the Federal University of Pará (UFPA). The methodology, applied and qualitative in nature, combined technological develop ment with a comparative analysis of the system’s evolution. The solution, built on a modular architecture, employs the Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) technique, enabling the chatbot to generate precise and contextualized responses strictly groun ded in official documents. As a result, the new version overcame the limitations of the initial prototype, ensuring greater precision and reliability in its responses, which now include citations of the consulted sources. The implementation of an administrative dashboard and improvements to the user interface were also successful.
