Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/8802This article examines the application of Field Study (Estudo do Meio) as an active methodology in Geography classes within socio-educational programs for adolescents deprived of liberty. The proposal was implemented through field lessons conducted in various locations across the Metropolitan Region of Belém during the first semester of 2025, offering students from the Antônio Carlos Gomes da Costa School (PA) experiences that extended beyond the physical boundaries of the classroom. To support the development of this study, bibliographic research was carried out in order to engage with authors who discuss Geography teaching and Field Study, thereby structuring a sequence of steps to guide the implementation of the proposal. The results demonstrated the relevance of the experience by linking teaching and learning to the appropriation of urban spaces historically denied to marginalized and low-income populations, fostering reflections on social inequalities, exclusion, and structural violence. The methodology also contributed to the re-signification of urban space and to the rebuilding of adolescents’ self-esteem, citizenship, and dignity.
