The resistance that many students already bring from outside the classroom makes this learning difficult. Due to the notorious difficulty of many students in this very important subject, it is up to the teachers, most of the time, to seek alternative ways to make teaching easier and more dynamic. Teaching in a playful way is one way to make the student break the prejudice that mathematics is difficult or impossible. For this reason, teaching materials alternative to traditional methods (blackboard, chalk, and textbook) are very important. In this context, the use of Frac-soma 235 to teach fractions emerges as a proposal in the teaching of rational numbers. Frac-soma 235 is a concrete material used for teaching the concept and operations using fractions. Originally made of wood, it is 7 composed of 235 pieces of various colors and fractional sizes. This research sought to investigate in the literature what has been written about the use of Frac-soma 235 in teaching mathematics to elementary school students. The method used for this was the integrative literature review. The database chosen was Google Academic, the descriptors entered in the search were "Frac-sum 235", "mathematics teaching" and "Elementary School". The search returned 69 results, in which the time filter (2016- 2021) was applied, which brought 29 results. Of these, after applying the inclusion and exclusion items, 4 remained for discussion.
