Acesso em: .https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/3843The present study is the result of the Course Conclusion Work (TCC) which aimed to analyze the perception of Public Defenders in relation to those assisted and, in addition, what are the main strategies performed by these professionals for the didactic process of communication from legal language to people with low schooling. In this perspective, from guiding questions, it was intended to identify: what are the greatest difficulties of defenders in passing on legal guidance to users who have little or no schooling to understand the legal language related to what they claim? How will the knowledge of the Pedagogue help in the mediation of communication between Defenders and Assisted? The methodological process based on the qualitative research approach, where it was possible to elaborate a script with semi-structured questions for the application of an interview approach for data analysis, was of a qualitative nature, with interviews previously with two professionals of the public defender. Then, the data were treated and analyzed in the light of content analysis. The study revealed that the Defenders' perception refers mainly to the social, economic and educational vulnerability of the Assisted, and that these generate barriers to the understanding of the legal language.
