The research is based on Usage-Centered Functional Linguistics and the Conceptual Metaphor approach, having aiming to analyze how the canonical term changes to express intensity in informal communication contexts. Thus, through a qualitative and bibliographic approach, data were collected from social media platforms such as WhatsApp, Instagram, Thread, and Facebook, in order to analyze the use of the expression in non-canonical interactions. This, the results evidenced characteristics from one domain to another.
