The investigation seeks not only to scrutinize the first interactions between colonizing agents and native indigenous societies, but also to reveal the ecological and sociocultural reverberations arising from this initial contact, inserting such phenomena into the broader scope of the transformations triggered by the European expansionist process. By carrying out an accurate analysis of the environmental changes and sociopolitical dynamics described in these documents, this study aims to illuminate European conceptions about the Amazonian landscape, its natural resources and the worldviews of the native peoples, as well as to critically reflect on the epistemological and material implications of the first colonial attacks on the region. In this way, the research not only fits into the historiographical corpus of the Amazon, contributing to the understanding of the structural matrices that shaped its trajectory, but also offers a critical perspective on the active role of the acting subjects, highlighting the historical foundations that support the complex relationship between human occupation and nature.
