Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/jspui/handle/prefix/7712The main focus of this study is to analyze the long journeys experienced on school transportation by students at the Maria das Dores Sá Municipal School, located in Vila Recreio do Piriá, a rural riverside area of the municipality of Curralinho, State of Pará, and their implications for the teaching-learning process. The problem that guided the research was: what influences do the long journeys experienced on school transportation by students at the Maria das Dores Sá Municipal School, located in Vila Recreio do Piriá, a rural riverside area of the municipality of Curralinho, State of Pará, have on the teaching-learning process? The study is based on field research carried out through observation and semi-structured interviews, bibliographical and documentary research. It is concluded, from the reports, that the difficulties faced by the students directly affect their learning, causing their motivation to learn to decrease significantly. This lack of motivation is due to several factors that go beyond the time spent on the boats or the distance they travel.
