Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/10237Considering that orthodontics is responsible for producing a functional and morphologically stable occlusion, in addition to being aesthetically adequate, we see the insertion of miniplates as a possibility of achieving this occlusion in a lessinvasive way, with less dependence on patient care and even shorter duration. This study sought to conduct a literature review on the current use of miniplates in orthodontics. For this purpose, the keywords “miniplates/miniplates” and “orthodontia/orthodontic” were used in 02 databases: PubMed and Scielo, selecting original articles, case studies or systematic reviews.
