The research examines the political, economic, and social interests that motivated the Netherlands' incursion into the region, as well as the interactions established with Indigenous populations. Additionally, it analyzes the Eurocentric discourses constructed about the Amazon and the impact of colonial occupation on the local fauna and environmental dynamics. The historiographical and environmental approach allows for an understanding of not only the strategies of domination and exploitation employed by the Netherlands but also the resistance. efforts of native peoples against colonization. The results highlight the complexity of colonial relations and the need to revisit historical sources and traditional interpretations of Amazonian occupation. Thus, this study contributes to a broader and more critical perspective on the period, emphasizing the importance of considering multiple viewpoints in reconstructing the region’s history and understanding the effects of the Netherlands' presence in colonial Amazonia.Acesso AbertoAmazônia ColonialPresença holandesaHistória ambientalNarrativas historiográficasNetherland presenceEnvironmental historyHistoriographical narrativesCNPQ::CIENCIAS HUMANAS::HISTORIA::HISTORIA ANTIGA E MEDIEVALOs animais nos relatos holandeses na Amazônia Seiscentista (1620-1650)Trabalho de Curso - Graduação - MonografiaAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Brazil
