To this end, we will briefly review the concept of territory, territorialization and power relations. Below we will analyze the last two laws of official territorial division of the municipality of São Miguel do Guamá, pointing out the inadequacies found and finally we will give a brief overview of the constitution process, characterization and impacts for this municipality. And as a methodology for this purpose, the literature review will be based on bibliographic and documentary research. This municipality was chosen given its historical characteristics and regional importance. Territory was chosen as a key concept, as an important category of analysis in Geography and from which we can understand a certain spatial area and the power relations that construct it.
