There changing environments in some cases should remain free of human disturbance, ie, permanent preservation areas and among these, there is the riparian forests. This study aimed to identify and quantify areas of riparian forest preserved and disturbed, which was developed through research, case studies and use of methodologies and geotechnology techniques, in order to demonstrate the manipulation of these, as tools that provide the definition, measurement, classification of land use and land occupation and even the mapping of riparian forests in an automated manner, taking as its premise the efficiency and economy of the process.
