The projects were developed to control four plant models with varied dynamics, three of which come from real systems (the Ball and Beam system, the ArduRAJ system, and the Damped Pendulum system) and one mathematical model of a non-minimum phase system, whose transfer functions were obtained from the literature. The designed controllers were evaluated through computer simulations carried out in the Scilab software. The performance analysis consisted of comparing the closed-loop response with the response of a reference model which, by the model matching method, must be identical, considering as reference a unit step input, as well as the ability (or inability) to reject an external disturbance also of the step type. For each of the four plants, it was confirmed that the same equations and algorithms used to obtain continuous controllers through model matching can, in fact, be applied to obtain discrete controllers. The control techniques applied to the four plants showed satisfactory results when compared to the reference model.
