These phenomena cause damage to the coastal population, depredating the public patrimony, residences and even causing damage to human life. Therefore, studies providing information that helps decreasing the loss of lives and resources are important. This paper aims to analyze the influence of hurricane seasons in the Caribbean and the United States' Southeastern region in the period from 2015 to 2017. For data acquisition regarding the hurricane seasons and the water level during them, the National Hurricane Center and the NOAA Tides & Currents databases were used respectively. Applying SRTM (satellite altimetry) and bathymetry data the effects of hurricanes on the coastal region were investigated. SST data (sea surface temperature) were obtained from the database of the NASA'sOceanColor Web to identify the temperature distribution over the years in the study area. There was made the development of maps of the hurricanes’ path that allowed verifying the affected regions. The water level data were submitted to statistical tests (waveletcoherence) to verify the consistency between the predicted and observed data. In addition, graphs were developed with the difference between predicted and observed (predicted-observed) along with data of the water level’s average of each station. Furthermore, a bibliographic review was conducted to verify the relationship between El Niño events and hurricane seasons in the North Atlantic. The results have revealed a propensity of more extreme and harshest damage events occurring in non-El Nino (La Nina and neutral) years.Acesso AbertoFuracõesOceano Atlântico NorteCNPQ::CIENCIAS EXATAS E DA TERRA::OCEANOGRAFIA::OCEANOGRAFIA FISICAAnálise das temporadas de furacões nos anos de 2015 a 2017 no Atlântico Norte: estudo de casoTrabalho de Curso - Graduação - Monografia
