Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/10083The growth in the production of personal digital data contrasts with the increasing loss of user sovereignty in the face of monopolistic public cloud models and the infrastructure limitations of Brazilian domestic networks, which are marked by the CGNAT mechanism. Therefore, this undergraduate thesis presents the development and technical validation of a low-cost residential NAS (Network Attached Storage) server, structured from repurposed hardware. The research is characterized as an applied and experimental study, anchored in the implementation of the TrueNAS Scale operating system and the OpenZFS file system in a mirroring array to ensure data integrity against silent corruption. To overcome the perimeter isolation imposed by internet service providers, an overlay network layer was integrated via Tailscale, based on the WireGuard protocol. This enabled transparent and secure NAT traversal without the additional costs of dedicated public IPs. The automation of backup routines was validated in the background on mobile devices using the FolderSync application, while remote file access was operated via the SMB protocol through CX File Explorer. The results demonstrated stability on mobile networks (4G/5G), transfer rates consistent with residential internet links, and the complete elimination of manual backup processes.
