The research is based on the observation that the Brazilian prison system suffers from structural and functional deficiencies that compromise human rights and the effectiveness of imprisonment as a tool for social reintegration. Through bibliographic research, analysis of national and international case studies, and technical guidelines, the work aims to support the importance of a more humane prison architecture. The proposed design considers aspects such as ventilation, natural lighting, thermal control, and adequate spatial organization for inmate activities, promoting a dignified and functional environment.
