In order to understand the reasons why this area has developed so much, we did bibliographic research on; historical context in which it gained visibility and attention; its applications in decision-making; mathematical concepts of the Graphing Method, Simplex Method used in the solution and optimization of Linear Programming models; the development of Linear Programming within Mathematical Programming with its proceeds in microcomput ers. Through this we were able to discover the exact period in which Linear Programming gained visibility, the reason that provided its development and its relationship with Operations Research, its applications, the mathematical foundations that are the bases of the algorithms developed for the solution of Linear Programming models; The algorithms developed are easy to implement on microcomputers, which facilitates their advancement and applications.
