The choice of the type of foundation for a construction is based exclusively on technical and economic parameters, which must be studied by the engineer in charge of the project. In Belém of Pará, due to geotechnical issues, the use of deep foundations is commonplace, the use of foundation blocks is present in the same way. From this, a need arises, together with what is observed outside the country, for the use of steel fibers in structural elements of foundation, considering that with the possibility of partial or total use of steel fibers in detriment of the steel bars of conventional reinforcement, there could be a gain in time in the execution of these elements and, therefore, greater economy.
