Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/10008The management of Construction and Demolition Waste (CDW) is a critical challenge for urban sustainability in Brazil, particularly in medium-sized municipalities in the Amazon region, such as Cametá, Pará. This study aims to assess CDW management in Cametá in light of the National Solid Waste Policy (PNRS) and the New Basic Sanitation Legal Framework. The evaluation utilized the indicator framework of the Construction and Demolition Waste Management Index (IGRCD), which analyzes municipal management across four dimensions: Management Instruments, Management Programs, Collection and Sorting, and Treatment and Disposal. The research employed a mixed-methods approach (qualitative and quantitative) with exploratory and descriptive characteristics, utilizing secondary data and document analysis. The results reveal that Cametá performs poorly in CDW management, characterized by the absence of a Municipal CDW Management Plan, a legislative gap that does not mandate a CDW Management Plan (PGRCC) for construction projects, and a lack of infrastructure for proper final disposal.
