Its occurrence is especially worrisome when it occurs in the pregnancy period, and can be transmitted from the pregnant woman to the fetus, and may cause congenital syphilis. The permanence of its high prevalence is an important marker of the quality of prenatal care in the context of public health in Brazil, since diagnosis and treatment are performed in primary health care. Objective: The present study seeks to analyze the quality of treatment performed by medical professionals for gestational and congenital syphilis in the municipality of Altamira-PA, through the SINAN notification forms, in the period from 2007 to 2019. Methodology: It consists of a cross-sectional, retrospective, quantitative, observational and descriptive study, which analyzes the quality of treatment carried out by the medical professional in cases of gestational and congenital syphilis in the municipality of Altamira-PA, from 2007 to 2019. Performed through data obtained from the Information System of Notifiable Diseases (SINAN). Results: It was found that the city of Altamira-PA had a total of 472 cases of gestational syphilis and 203 cases of congenital syphilis. The unit with the highest incidence of GS was the Independent USF II (11.98%). The cases of CS had a higher incidence in the area covered by the Brasília unit (9.60%). Discussion: The study revealed a significant increase in the incidence of syphilis, which mostly occurs in a population at risk: young mothers with low levels of education. In addition, there was a great inadequacy of prenatal care, represented by the increase in the rate of vertical transmission, failure to provide adequate treatment to mothers during prenatal care and their respective sexual partners, late diagnosis of GS (3° trimester) and discordant treatment regimen. These factors were further aggravated by underreporting of the forms. Conclusion: It was observed that there were several failures in prenatal care in the municipality, indicating the need for training and guidance actions regarding diagnosis, treatment, monitoring and reporting of the infection.
