Acesso em:.http://bdm.ufpa.br/jspui/handle/prefix/1557The effect of bathymetry on 2,5-D modeling is still underexplored and has long been treated as a source of noise with little influence on data of the Marine Controlled- Source Electromagnetic Methods - MCSEM, which led to misinterpretations and bad allocated wells in oil exploration market. Therefore, the objective of this study is to qualify the influence of different bathymetries in MCSEM data with and without reservoir at various frequencies. Thereunto, we implemented an unstructured mesh, developed in free software Triangle, in numerical modeling of 2,5-D MCSEM data. The comparision between the effect of bathymetry with no reservoires datas proved that it behaves as an anomalous body and that how much more abrupt is, greater the amplitude of the electric field will be, in an enviroment with reservoir, bathymetry conceals its effect, giving a false impression about its amplitude, so in more abrupt bathymetries is better the aplication of a lower frequency in the acquisition in order to enhance the effect of the reservoir, while for softer bathymetry, the ideal is to use an intermediate frequency, so you can perceive the influence of the reservoir without many noises due to bathymetry.
