Thus, the demand for understanding and knowing how to deal with this group of patients has become essential. These undergo surgical treatments, chemotherapy (QT) and radiotherapy (RT); treatments which are directly related to a worsening of their quality of life. As QT and RT are not specific treatments, they affect regions and tissues other than that of the original lesion, bringing with it complications that lead to a worsening in the quality of life of these patients. In this regard, dentistry is directly related to the management of oral complications arising from antineoplastic therapy, and professionals working in this area must be able to act at different levels of application, together with a multidisciplinary team, in order to reduce the morbidity of this treatment. The objective of this study, through the proposal of creating a protocol, is to emphasize the importance of dentistry in the management of adverse effects on these patients at all stages of treatment. This intervention protocol proposal was based on a literature review of the PubMed, Lilacs, Scielo and Google Scholar databases, as well as in consolidated textbooks and papers from the World Health Organization and the National Cancer Institute José Alencar Gomes da Silva. Through the results, tables were produced showing the main oral manifestations of cancer treatment, dividing them categorically according to the most common cause and their respective treatments. These, in its turn, were subdivided into levels of application such as: preventive, palliative and resolving.
