Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/10307This paper is an account of the experience of a graduate of basic education in the municipality of Curuçá - PA, which seeks to analyze the challenges faced by students in the Mutucal community between 2011 and 2015, as well as the relevance of the Caminho da Escola Program in the educational inclusion process of this riverside population. This exposition starts from the principle that education is a right guaranteed by the 1988 Federal Constitution, but still denied to many Brazilians due to adverse socioeconomic and geographical conditions. Revisiting my school trajectory, it becomes evident that, although I managed to reach higher education, most of my colleagues faced significant difficulties, such as school dropout and lack of opportunities. In this context, the importance of public policies capable of reducing historical inequalities in the Amazon is highlighted, especially regarding access to school transportation as a basic condition for students to remain in school. This study adopts a qualitative approach, focusing on the personal narratives of student Daiana Corrêa Lopes and a bibliographic review of articles, dissertations, theses, official documents, and legislation related to basic education and school transportation.
