The study investigates the correlation between bus traffic and structural damages in flexible pavements in the Batista Campos neighborhood, in Belém/PA, with a specific focus on two recurrent problems that affect the durability and functionality of urban roads: fatigue cracking and permanent deformation. The research is based on data collected by Cardoso and Neves (2023) and adopts a methodology grounded in statistical analysis, including the Chi-square association test and Pearson’s linear correlation coefficient. The results indicate that, for the tests carried out considering traffic versus fatigue cracking, no statistical evidence of correlation between the variables was found. However, for the tests considering traffic versus permanent deformations, the analysis evidenced the existence of a positive correlation, showing that there is a relationship between bus traffic and the occurrence of permanent deformations in the studied roads. Regarding severity, the analyses revealed statistically significant correlations between traffic and the different levels (low, moderate, and high) of fatigue cracking.
