Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/8605The article emphasizes the relationship between educational practice and humanization in Paulo Freire's Pedagogy of the Oppressed, aiming to understand the importance of critical education in current times. In addition to this main work, others by different authors were also used. This is a qualitative research study with an emphasis on bibliographic research. The results highlight how the banking concept of education still prevails in the school educational context, which we consider to compromise the teaching-learning process of students and also the educational practice of educators themselves, because it distances them from the value of education and teacher training itself. On the other hand, education as a practice of freedom aims precisely to train individuals capable of actively participating in society, based on more humanistic, dialogical processes and a commitment to the community.
