Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/6245This study intended to discuss the teaching and learning of Statistics from the perspective of a propositional didactic sequence with the COVID-19 theme. To achieve this objective, it was necessary to elaborate a didactic sequence for students of the 8th year of Elementary School of the Final Years, for the teaching and learning of Mathematics with the theme of the COVID- 19 pandemic referring to the municipality of Castanhal; discuss how the COVID-19 theme can be approached as curricular content in the teaching and learning of Mathematics for Elementary School students in the Final Years based on the current regulation of Basic Education, the BNCC; finally, to present a didactic sequence applied to the content of Statistics, with the proposal to include COVID-19 data in its structure. The methodology used in this work consisted of a descriptive research, with a qualitative approach, being an exploratory study in which a bibliographic survey was carried out on the subject to be discussed, that is, relating to the teaching of Statistics.
