The Magnetic Susceptibility (MS) studies conducted on 78 representative samples of six different plutons and one stock, located on Canaã dos Carajás area, provide variable MS values, which allowed to distinguish three populations divided into two groups based on their distinct geological characteristics: (1) The group which includes A and B populations and it has MS values between 0,0102x10-3 and 0,6247x10-3 IS (International System); (2) The group formed by the C population which differs from first by contain the highest MS values, ranging between 0,8036x10-3 and 15,700x10-3 IS, indicative of significant magnetite content in modal composition. In populations A and B, the lowest MS values, the mineral opaque is ilmenite, whiles in the samples of the highest MS values population beyond ilmenite, there is occurrence of magnetite as expressive phase, whereas pyrite, chalcopyrite and hematite (as product martitization of magnetite) are subordinate. Semiquantitative analyzes (EDS) conducted in amphibole and biotite of samples of two groups allowed to define the preliminary classification these minerals and estimate the parameters of oxygen fugacity which acted during Planalto Suite crystallization. The samples of 1 group were formed in reduced condition, on the other hand, the magnetic behavior of the population C is apparently contradictory to the high FeOt/(FeOt+MgOt) > 0,9 ration in whole rock presented, typical of granites reduced. However, this can be explained if it is admitted that the rocks of the group 2 were formed in oxygen fugacity conditions equivalent to the buffer FMQ or slightly above it, whereas those of group 1 have been formed in fugacity conditions bellow to buffer FMQ. EDS analysis in zircon crystals in different varieties show high Zr/Hf rations (~30), typical in unspecialized granites. Besides that, a comparative study between Complexo Granítico Estrela and Planalto Suite in petrography terms, magnetic petrology and mineral chemistry shows that these granites are very similar, which evolved under similar conditions.Acesso AbertoPetrologia – Carajás, Província (PA)Química mineral semiquantitativaSuíte PlanaltoGranitos Tipo-AArqueanoCNPQ::CIENCIAS EXATAS E DA TERRA::GEOCIENCIAS::GEOLOGIA::PETROLOGIAPetrologia magnética e química mineral dos granitos da Suíte Planalto de Canaã dos Carajás, Província CarajásTrabalho de Curso - Graduação - Monografia
