The specific customs and traditions of the community stand out, which in a unique way constitute its identity and sense of belonging. These are historical heritage, cultural assets, crafts and ways of doing things, celebrations, places and forms of expression typical of the territory, which must be studied in order to recognize, value and preserve them locally, in order to avoid irreparable impacts on the quilombo in the future as a result of the constant process of change. Therefore, in order for an object to be recognized as heritage in our locality, it must be studied very carefully, taking into account, among other things, our history, its technical characteristics, its state of conservation, its changes over time, and its cultural importance. In this context, the Traditional Festival of São Benedito stands out as an example of intangible heritage that must be recognized and preserved by the population. This strengthens and identifies our heritage and cultural ties, encouraging participation in all stages of the preservation of existing assets in our communities, in line with the Gracinda Dias Peres School, which is a vehicle for teaching and learning. The school can provide opportunities and reflections on heritage education, highlighting the festival as an intangible heritage, because through education it is possible to tell the story of the festival to the present day, also contributing to the historiography of the quilombo in which the festival is inserted, with the support of the school administration, pedagogical coordination, leaders of the quilombola movement, lectures, students, among others. This Heritage Education initiative is due to the exodus of the population in search of better living conditions, as well as the death of adults, which leaves the new generation without information about their own history and, consequently, without an understanding of belonging.Acesso AbertoPatrimônio imaterialMemóriaFestividade de São BeneditoEnsino-aprendizagemPertencimentoIntangible heritageMemoryTeaching-learningBelongingCNPQ::CIENCIAS HUMANAS::HISTORIA::HISTORIA DO BRASIL::HISTORIA REGIONAL DO BRASILA Festividade de São Benedito no Quilombo: entre passado e presente, mudanças e permanências, e a importância do conhecimento para o reconhecimentoTrabalho de Curso - Graduação - Monografia
