Therefore, understanding the mechanisms of action of this phenomenon is essential. However, current regulations still lack the necessary tools to fully characterize the penetration of chloride ions in concrete bodies, thus making it essential to search for a theoretical framework that helps to better understand the cause of pathological manifestations, such as corrosion. So this work focused on establishing a systematic review of mathematical methods for evaluating chloride infiltration in concrete, seeking the main new theoretical approaches and technologies employed with regard to ionic diffusion.
